Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Role: Senior Infrastructure EngineerSalary/Rate: £529-629 per day inside IR35 Location: Hybrid, 3 days per week split between London and Milton Keynes Contract Duration: 6 months

We are currently looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for our government client.

This Senior Infrastructure Engineer role is hybrid, based between 3 days per week on sites in both London and Milton Keynes, and the remainder of the week working from home. There is no further flexibility with expected time on sites, or the office locations.

The contract for this Senior Infrastructure Engineer position is for 6 months, with potential to extend, operating inside IR35.

Security Clearance: Developed Vetting (DV Security Clearance)

This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role, it will now be based on an Umbrella solution.

Essential Skills / Experience required:

\n
• Strong Microsoft Azure administration and support experience.
\n
• Hands-on experience installing and managing Azure Arc-enabled servers.
\n
• Experience deploying and supporting Azure Monitor Agent (AMA).
\n
• Experience deploying and supporting XDR/EDR security agents.
\n
• Strong Windows Serveradministration skills.
\n
• Strong Linux server administration skills.
\n
• Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
\n
• Strong networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VPNs, firewalls, and proxies.
\n
• Experience with PowerShell and Bash scripting.
\n
• Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and infrastructure monitoring solutions.
\n
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or equivalent experience.
\n
• 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or Systems Administration.
\n

• Azure Infrastructure & Hybrid Cloud

• Deploy, configure, and support Microsoft Azure infrastructure services.
\n
• Install and onboard Windows and Linux servers to Azure Arc.
\n
• Configure and manage Azure Arc-enabled servers and extensions.
\n

\n
• Monitoring & Observability
\n

\n
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Azure Monitor Agent (AMA) on Windows and Linux servers.
\n
• Configure Azure Monitor, Log Analytics Workspaces, Data Collection Rules (DCRs), dashboards, and alerting solutions.
\n

\n
• Endpoint Security & XDR Deployment
\n

\n
• Deploy, configure, upgrade, and maintain XDR/EDR agents across Windows and Linux server environments.
\n
• Perform large-scale security agent rollouts using automated deployment methods.
\n

\n
• Windows Server Administration
\n

\n
• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Windows Server environments.
\n
• Perform server patching, upgrades, security hardening, and lifecycle management.
\n

\n
• Linux Server Administration
\n

\n
• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Linux server environments.
\n
• Perform Linux patching, upgrades, and security hardening activities.
\n

\n
• Networking
\n

\n
• Configure and troubleshoot TCP/IP networking in on-premises and Azure environments.
\n
• Support DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and proxy services.
\n

• Automation & Platform Engineering
\n

\n
• Automate operational tasks using PowerShell and Bash scripting.
\n
• Develop deployment and validation scripts for Azure Arc, Azure Monitor Agent, and XDR solutions.
